Major SunCell Milestone

40 Minute Run At Commercial Power Levels

BLP posted a major announcement today: the prototype SunCell has been run for 40 minutes.

The reason this is a big deal is that Dr. Mills has publicly stated that the milestone that has been set for BLP by the many large corporations and institutional investors that have expressed interest is a 1 hour run of the light source component of the SunCell.

For a refresher on how the SunCell works, please see this overview article. Among other things, it covers the two main components of the SunCell: the light source subsystem and the CPV subsystem that will capture the high intensity light it emits.

I believe that we can infer several important things from this post:

1. BLP will be ready to demonstrate a commercially viable prototype of the light source subsystem of the SunCell imminently.

2. BLP is either now ready to, or soon will be ready to, allow third party validators to take electrical input measurements and light output measurements of the light source subsystem.

I expect BLP to be able to raise large amounts of capital once it has a demo-ready light source subsystem and move quickly towards integrated the CPV subsystem with the light source subsystem and put prototype SunCells in the field.

It seems likely that 2026 is the year that the world finally wakes up to the reality that humanity will soon have access to near limitless zero marginal cost energy from water.
